About Me
My name is Jo Anne Rickard-Barnosky. I live in Ellicott City, Maryland just outside of Baltimore. I'm a Certified Massage Therapist and run my own private practice in Columbia, MD. I'm also a waiting mother to be of a beautiful little baby girl from China. We've been waiting since 2006! Baking is my passion. I do it all the time, when I'm happy, sad, bored or whatever! Nothing makes me happier than to see how excited it makes others. I'm not a professional baker, just someone who wants to help others. I truly believe you find your greatest success in your passions.
My inspiration came when I was on the bus to NYC for a little girls' weekend. I pulled out my guilty pleasure, People magazine, to get caught up on the dirt. I instantly became inspired when I read the article in the Heroes Among Us section about a wonderful woman in Georgia named Toni Poulos. She started a non profit organization that bakes cakes for children whose parents can't afford one. I knew I'd found my calling. With Toni's help and support I've started a chapter in the Baltimore area.
